Thanks for checking out our listing. We’re excited to find a third roommate to join us in what we think is a great room in an amazing apartment with two chill, respectful roommates. The departing roommate is leaving to be closer to grad school, so this is a lease takeover. The term of the lease is from 1/1/26 until 8/31/26, with the possibility of a long term extension if its a good fit for everyone.

The Apartment:
Charming well-maintained building with beautiful hardwood floors. It’s a 2nd-floor walkup in a two-unit building. The common areas are fully furnished. The kitchen is fully stocked with pots, pans, and gadgets, and the living room has two comfy couches, a large TV, and space for reading or working. The bathroom is cleaned monthly by a professional service (we pay $50/pp). We also have a very responsive landlord who fixes things promptly.

Rooftop Deck:
Our best feature is a huge private rooftop deck, fully refinished in 2024. It’s perfect for getting sun, having evening drinks, hosting friends, or just relaxing when the weather is nice. It currently has a modest outdoor couch setup, with plenty of extra space to add outdoor furniture or improvements if desired. There’s also a small porch/landing leading to the deck that’s great for grilling, growing plants, or using as an outdoor workspace for art projects.

The Room:
A spacious 13x11 ft room with a 2x6 ft closet. Two large east-facing windows bring in lots of natural light in the mornings and afternoons. The room can easily fit a full or queen bed, desk, dresser, and more. The room is UNFURNISHED and will be cleared and cleaned before 1/1. Please note, the room faces Smith St. so there is some occasional street noise, though most roommates in the past have found this to be a non-issue.

Shared Extra Room:
There is an additional all-purpose room shared by the roommates. Shane uses it as a work-from-home space for his desk and computer, Melissa uses it for yoga, and both use the closet for storage. The departing roommate will also be taking her desk, so a new roommate can put their desk, exercise bike, or whatever they want in the space. There is a futon in the room as well, which we have used to host guests for 1-2 day visits when it works for everyone.

The Roommates:
Roommates are Shane, a late-30s TV/video producer who enjoys seeing films, playing chess, and time with friends, and Melissa, an early-30s attorney who loves reading, hiking, and going to Broadway shows . Cleanliness, open communication, and respect keep the home comfortable.

Location:
We’re right on the border of Cobble Hill/Boerum Hill -- with tons of restaurants, cafes, bars, shops, and amenities. The Bergen St F/G stop is on our same block, and just a few minute walk to the ACE 2, 3,4,5 and major transportation hubs. Trader Joe’s is a 5-minute walk, Dumbo Market and a laundromat are a block away, and we’re a mile from Brooklyn Bridge Park and 2 miles from Prospect Park. It’s a safe, friendly, and fun neighborhood that’s easy to love.
