Hello! I'm renting a room in my beautiful two-bedroom Greenpoint apartment, starting February 1 (Jan. 15 could also work).

I love pretty much everything about this apartment, which is on the top floor of a six-story elevator building right next to (and I mean *right* next to) the park. It's big and airy and absolutely filled with light, with wall-sized windows in the living room and both bedrooms. There's also a lot of outdoor space—a balcony plus a ✨huge terrace✨. The bedrooms are on opposite sides of the apartment, so there's plenty of privacy. The apartment also has a dishwasher, and there's a washer and dryer directly across the hall.

In addition to a window that takes up an entire wall, the room itself also has a deep closet with extra storage space above, a personal central air unit you can control/customize, high ceilings, and an amazing view. It looks out over a series of classic Brooklyn rooftops and the NYC skyline. It easily fits a king-sized bed, desk, and dresser.

The place is in prime Greenpoint, right off of Manhattan Ave. and Eckford. The street is tree-lined and also directly across the street from the quieter section of McCarren Park. You get all of the perks of the park, and none of the noise. It's really the best of both worlds. There's a community garden across street, plus lots of plants in the apartment itself.

🐕I have a very friendly 2-year-old Samoyed pup, so I'm looking for someone who loves dogs and is thrilled at the prospect of coming home to tail wags and face licks (sorry to other pet owners, this is a one-dog household).🐕

The rent is $2,700 (utilities included). There's a one-month deposit upon move-in/sublease-signing.

I'm looking for someone who doesn't just want to rent a room, but really share a home.

🛏️The Room:
 - Big closet
- Can easily fit a king bed, desk, and dresser (I've included photos of my room for reference, which is the exact same size as the room for rent—it has a king, dresser, and large storage unit. I only moved in a couple of months ago and haven't had a roommate here yet, so this should give you an idea of what your room might look like with furniture.)
 - One giant window that takes up most of the exterior wall, with a lovely rooftop view of Greenpoint and a skyline view of the city.
- Central air (with your own thermostat)
- High ceilings
- Unfurnished (with the option for some furniture—I have an armoire and a couple of bookshelves if you're interested)

🏡The Apartment:  
- Top floor of a 6-floor elevator building
- A balcony off the living room, which also has a wall-sized sliding-glass door and therefore tons of natural light—it shares the same lovely view as the bedroom
- A huge private terrace, plus two other shared terraces on the floor and a big rooftop
- Modern, separate kitchen with a dishwasher, recessed lighting under the cabinets, and a lot of storage space
- Sleek bathroom with luxury tile, a heated fan, and a deep soaking tub (which is truly awesome)
- Central air throughout
- Intercom system
- High ceilings
- Many plants
 - I've gotten pretty into smart home stuff in the past few years, and so the apartment is outfitted with Alexa and Philips Hue bulbs, and a little robo-vac that sometimes cleans the floors while we sleep. I've also got Apple TV and way too many digital subscriptions that you're welcome to take advantage of (HBO Max, Hulu, Netflix, Prime, Disney, etc.)
- Washer and dryer across the hall
- Refuse room on our hall for trash and recycling

🏢The Building:
- Two more terraces on our floor, which are common-use
- A really lovely rooftop with excellent views
- Elevator!
- A gym on the ground floor
- A small co-working space

🏘️The Neighborhood:
- Across the street from the quiet side of McCarren Park (next to the community garden)
- A 2-minute walk to the central part of McCarren—including the track, playground, soccer and baseball fields, McCarren Parkhouse, and the farmer's market that sets up on the weekend
- 2 blocks to the Nassau G train, or a 10-minute walk to the Bedford L
- This location is really the best of both worlds—it's right on the edge of Greenpoint and Williamsburg. It's on a quiet street, but everything you need is within a 5-minute walk. Head in one direction, and you're in a cozy Greenpoint neighborhood with those quaint corner bars you'd miss if you didn't know to look for them (plus one of my favorite places—a board game club Called Last Place on Earth). Go the other direction and you're in the middle of one of the most popular neighborhoods in Brooklyn. Tons of restaurants, bars, shops of every kind, bodegas, grocery stores, etc.
 - If the gym in the building doesn't do it for you, the apartment is also about a 5-minute walk from Vital Climbing Gym (I don't climb much but the space is gorgeous and has a great gym, classes, and an A+ rooftop with a fire pit and sauna)

🙋You:
- Awesome, friendly person who loves dogs, getting to know their roommate, and the occasional shared bottle of wine
- Non-smoker
- If an evening of RuPaul's Drag Race, delivery, and jigsaw puzzles (swap with the nerdy hobby of your choice) sounds like heaven to you, we were destined to be friends. It should at the very least sound tolerable, lol.

- Comes with one fluffy white dog who'll be unreasonably happy when you walk in the door

I like living with a roommate because I enjoy the sense of community and sharing a space with someone along with a glass of wine (or bubble tea) at the end of a day, or maybe a shared takeout order. I may be renting a room, but I'm looking for someone who also wants to share a home.

I'd like to find someone who wants to stick around for awhile (at least 6 months to a year), but the sublease agreement only requires 30 days notice if you want to move out. Life happens, I get it.

(I also know how tough finding a place in this city can be, so I don't run a credit check, ask for proof of income, or demand the blood of your first-born child. The self-employed are welcome here.)
