TLDR: I am moving out of my apartment at the end of our lease, and am helping my roommates find someone to join the lease and take over my room. It is a 3bd/2ba apartment in Midtown East (48th & 2nd). The new lease would run from January 1, 2026 - December 31, 2026. Please comment on this post if you are interested.

The rent for this room is $2100/month, plus utilities (typically $60-70 month, but can go up to $150 in summer because of AC).

I've lived in this apartment for the last 3 years, and I've loved it! Sadie and Maya are great roommates, and it's been so much fun! The only reason I am moving out is to move in with my boyfriend.

THE ROOM
We are looking for someone to join the lease and take over my room. This is the 2nd full bedroom in the apartment. The room is fairly large - 15ft by 11ft - and perfect for working from home. It can fit a bed, side table, desk, reading chair, bookshelf, standing mirror, plus more. It also has a large closet. The bathroom is right outside the room, and you would be sharing the bathroom with one other roommate.

Side note: If you don't have furniture and need a bed/mattress/side table, I'm willing to sell the ones in these pics at a reasonable price!

THE APARTMENT UNIT
This unit has a large kitchen and sunny living room! If you like to cook, we have a 4 burner gas stove and several kitchen appliances (stand mixer, food processor, etc.). The kitchen has a dishwasher as well, which we run once every 3-4 days. The unit is on the 2nd floor of the building, although we've never had a problem with street noise. It's not a place where people go out at night so there's not much street noise past 9/10pm.

The unit is quite large for an NYC apartment. It has several storage closets, a dining area, & a living area. Pictures attached to the post. The living area is fully furnished, with 2 couches, a TV, and a
dining table.

THE BUILDING
This is a 24hr doorman building, with elevators, in a very safe area. Laundry is in basement, just 1 flight of stairs down from the unit. There are lots of transportation options nearby. Grand Central is only a 10 minute walk away, where you can catch the 4,5,6,7, or the LIRR/MetroNorth. The E & M trains are also close by, about a 7 minute walk. It takes about 30 min to get to Penn Station by subway. There is a Whole Foods & Trader Joe's about 12-13 minute walk (or 7 min bus ride) away, and a Morton Williams right across the street.

Building management is extremely responsive to maintenance requests. They typically come to fix any problems within the same day or day after we submit through the online portal.

THE ROOMMATES
You would be joining my 2 roommates, Sadie and Maya, who are both great! They are in their late 20s/early 30s. Maya is a genetic counselor, and Sadie works in biotech. They both mostly work in person, but will work from home 1-2x/week. They occasionally host friends, but usually no more than 4-5 people at a time. They are looking for someone clean & friendly, who would maybe even occasionally like to hang out in the evenings for couch time/movies!
