Also known as King’s County, you’ll find the borough of Brooklyn to the East Of Manhattan — shining in all its cultural beauty. We are not kidding when we say Brooklyn has something for everyone! So you best believe you’re never going to run out of things to do here.

If you’re someone who’s never visited here before, Brooklyn will seem like a foreign land to you, oh and surprisingly huge. If Brooklyn were to be its own city, it’d be the third most populated city in all of the United States!

Real talk though, this past year really tested all of our limits. One of the silver linings of the pandemic, however, was the undying support that came through for local businesses. With people finally getting out of their homes (all while taking controlled measures, of course) — we’re proposing a day out with your roommates to support the local beauty of Brooklyn, New York, and have a day out with our masks on!

The Brooklyn Museum is the largest museum in New York City. Owing to its permanent collection from all over the world, this is truly a museum lover’s paradise. Each collection you’ll find here is organized by culture, geographic locations, or time period.

Prepare yourself to be immersed in the beauty of their most popular collections, including the Egyptian, American Art, Arts of Africa, Arts of the Pacific Islands, Arts of the Islamic World, and European Art sections of the museum.

Some of the most famous artists featured in The Brooklyn Museum include Norman Rockwell, Edward Hopper, Edgar Degas, Georgia O’Keeffe, and Mark Rothko to name a few.

With their tagline, “discover your wild side”, and 266 species of marine life, The New York Aquarium has everything your wildest dreams could come up with. Their day usually starts at 10 am, with the last entry at 3:30 pm. This could be the perfect post-brunch activity for when you don’t necessarily want to spend time outside, but need something exciting to do!

Operated by the Wildlife Conservation Society, this aquarium’s main mission is to save wildlife through conservation programs, education, and scientific efforts. So you won’t just get a well-deserved break from the mundane with a scenery change, but also learn about the many environmental issues that threaten our aquatic wildlife today.

Learning while seeing playful sea lions, seals, turtles, penguins, and sharks? Sign me upppp! ?

They have recently re-opened to the public and request you to book a date-specific ticket in advance, in light of the pandemic.

We know you’ve heard of Grimaldi’s. That’s not going to stop us from mentioning them in our list.

Sure there are several Grimaldi’s now, but the location in DUMBO is not only the most famous but also their original location. When Patsy Grimaldi learned how to make pizza at the age of 10 in Harlem, he knew that he always wanted to own a pizza shop.

They boast of over 100 years of pizza-making traditions with their ultimate star being the coal-fired brick oven pizza — which has also been their family staple! They also have one of those menus that can make your mouth water just…. by existing. What better place to drag your roommates for a Saturday brunch?!

Don’t go expecting to grab the famous New York slice though, they only sell pizzas by the pie here. They are currently offering patio service, as well as curbside take away.

Bask in the golden glory of Sunset Park

For the longest time, Sunset Park was the local NYC geek’s best-kept secret. It’s just that kind of beautiful that you’d want to keep it to yourself forever. The views? Unbeatable. The dining around? As diverse as you’d like.

The old-meets-new vibe of Sunset Park, Brooklyn, is truly one of the most glorious things this part of the city has to offer. (There’s not a single Starbucks in sight ?)

And if you time your visit strategically, you won’t even run into the numerous photographers that flock here almost daily.

If you and your roommates fancy yourself a photogenic afternoon, charge your phone to the fullest, and get yourself to the breathtaking views of the Statue of Liberty, Manhattan skyline, Brooklyn neighborhoods, Staten Island, and New Jersey — right from Sunset Park.

Brooklyn Brewery was one of the first and one of New York’s first post-prohibition craft breweries that started in 1988. They were also the pioneers of the craft beer trend in Brooklyn!

But the reason we’re mentioning them in our list is not just for the significance they hold in Brooklyn’s history, but because of their highly informative 45 minute long guided tour through the facility!

They’re open Thursday to Sunday and are an absolutely killer addition to your ‘things to do in Brooklyn’ list.

So be sure to grab every single one of your roommates for their beer samples!
